Forks Branch Library
Jim and Nikki Klahn Community Meeting RoomLearn the basics of Peyote stitch in the round with this easy beadwork project.
Discover the foundational techniques of traditional beadwork in this hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop. Designed for makers of all skill levels, this session introduces participants to the core mechanics of off-loom bead weaving. You will start by practicing with extra-large pony beads to clearly understand the thread paths and tension required for this classic weave, before transitioning to smaller seed beads to create your own unique, finished project.
Participants will craft a vibrant, practical key chain using a variety of bright colors. This project serves as a perfect steppingstone for anyone wanting to build confidence in bead weaving and transition into more advanced sculptural or flat-stitch projects.
