PBS Wisdom Keepers Film Series

Episode 3: How We Shape and Understand Technology

Watch, reflect, discuss, and explore what common ground can look like in everyday life.

NOLS is excited to present Wisdom Keepers, a new PBS Books 8-episode film series that celebrates knowledge, storytelling, and resilience within communities across America. As part of a national initiative, the Library invites viewers to reflect, listen, and engage in meaningful discussions about belonging, hope, and the pursuit of wisdom.

Wisdom Keepers aims to explore the perspectives that help us understand our identity and direction, especially during these turbulent times. The series features interviews with some of the world's most insightful thinkers, mystics, historians, ethicists, faith leaders, and scientists. They tackle life's fundamental questions that most of us rarely have the time to consider in our busy lives. Attendees will be invited to participate in a guided discussion focused on ways to strengthen bonds within our community.

Whether you come to listen, share your perspective, or reflect on the ideas presented, this program offers an opportunity to engage in meaningful conversation.

Episode 3: Writer Kevin Kelly - How We Shape and Understand Technology
Ray Suarez speaks with writer Kevin Kelly about our relationship with technology and its transformative role in our lives. Kelly explores ‘The Technium’ - the vast, interdependent technological ecosystem and our social approach to new technologies from a pan-historical perspective. Wisdom Keepers seeks to revisit the perspectives that help us make sense of who we are and where we are going.
